12. THE BOWLS COURT AT POO
HISTORIA DE UN BESO 2002

 

SYNOPSIS
1949. The story takes place in an Asturian village where the great writer, Blas Otamendi, has just died. His nephew, Julio, who is a teacher in France, goes to the funeral. When he meets family members later in the family manor house, he begins to remember his childhood. Uncle and nephew begin to relive the old memories, hidden in the past and relive the loves of the magic summer of 1925.

The Bowls Court at Poo: This was built in 1904 with money give by Indianos and even today there are lots of competitions held here. Indiano money also funded the church at San Vicente in 1868.
The village is about 1.5 km from Llanes and houses the Asturian Arts and Crafts Centre. This has craft workshops which are open to the public, as well as an exhibition and sales room. There are also courses in different craft actitivities.
